![]() When you first start here they play favorites with employee's and will give them days off. Don't expect to get days off even if you request it months in advance. If you have open availability expect to work every single weekend. Reevaluate your company’s values on the inside. Maybe then you won’t be chronically understaffed. And safari if you read this, maybe you should actually try to change how things are for once and listen to the feedback that is left on these reviews. ![]() ![]() I HIGHLY recommend taking all of these reviews into consideration before working here. I cannot even begin to explain how high their turnover rate is. You can work with pets somewhere that values their employees and their clients. The idea of working with pets is great, but not here. They will take complete advantage of you and your hard work will go unnoticed. I’m not saying this to be hateful, I just genuinely want to warn people who are looking to work here. But the way this place is managed is so unprofessional and just not right in anyway. This price increase did not equal a raise for their employees. They even raised their prices to the point where customers stopped coming. The staff is overworked and underpaid to put it lightly. The blame is always put on everyone else. However, if there is a rude customer- upper management will throw you under the bus and never defend their staff. The customers at this job are honestly the best thing about the job, there are regulars who are the nicest people. Upper management is unprofessional, incredibly rude, and catty. If you want to be valued at your place of employment, do not work here. I want to write this because i genuinely want people to listen. When told to management they did seem - more. Even worse dogs were going home covered in filth or their own bodily fluids, and even sometime with cuts and gashes. Along with that play areas would be left dirty and some dogs being left in dirty dog kennels for long amounts of time. Many times dogs were not let out, forgotten inside or put up early with out to much communication to pet parents. I understand that everything isn’t perfect but as a dog owner I would never leave my dogs there to board. Outside of slight favoritism a huge red flag would be the treatment of dogs and some conditions they are in. All workplaces have quirks and cliques but this job but this is the only job I have ever worked where people friends or people they like more would get promotions over other people who have worked harder, longer at the company and would be better suited for the positions. Due to that lack of accountability there were way to many times people had gotten away with things so when ever a rule was enforced it almost felt like it was a personal attack or because there was some sort of drama behind it. It may be the high turn over rate due to long shifts for poor wages or the inability to proper train, but there was an overall lack of accountability from top to bottom. The biggest problem from my point of view was the business seems to be poorly ran without good infrastructure which usually boiled down to it feeling more like a high school then a workplace. ![]() But I’m going to start with the negatives. Honestly if you like dogs and can deal with the negatives I would recommend working at Safari.
